Kailash – trek around the holiest mountain / Tibet – Nepal

Tibet is a mystical land hidden behind the ridge of the Himalayas, famous for its incredibly beautiful alpine nature. We have prepared for you the top of all the treks in Himalayas, trek around magic mountain Kailash 6714 meters high, the most sacred mountain and the center of the universe in four world religions of Buddhists, Hindus, Jains and confessors of traditional shamanic religion in Tibet – Bon. It has been a place of pilgrimage of these religions for centuries, for Hindus it is a seat of the god Shiva and for Tibetans the seat of deity Demchok. Hindus associate it with the mythical Mount Meru representing the center of the universe.

In the neighbourhood four main rivers of the Indian subcontinent originate – Ganges, Indus, Sutlej and Brahmaputra. The circle around this magical mountain, or the so called Kora as orthodox Buddhists call it is the redemption of all sins. Come with us and walk around this monumental mountain and say magical chant, Om Mani Padme Hum,,.

Preliminary programme:

 1st – 2nd day: Transportation by air from Europe to Kathmandu, the capital city of Nepal.

 3rd – 4th day: Rest and visit to Kathmandu, the completion of formalities, documents and all necessary permits to Tibet.

 5th – 6th day: Flight by local airlines to the city of Nepalganj and then to the Simikot airport (3000 m) in western Nepal, the start of our trek.

 7th – 12th day: A six-day trek through the valley of Humla Karnali River and then north-western plains of Nepal to the Tibetan border.

 13th -14th day: Transport by jeep (about 100 km) through tibetan plateau and along the sacred turquoise lake Manasarowar under    M. Kailash.

 15th – 22th day: Four-day circuit around this mythical mountain, transit through the mountain pass Dolma La at incredible 5660 m, return to the border and return trek to Simikotu, in case of good conditions by an alternative route.

 23rd – 24th day: Transfer by air from Simikot back to Kathmandu.

 25th – 26th day: Visit to historic sites in Kathmandu, shopping and well-deserved rest, the possibility of optional excursions, such as flight to M. Everest, rafting, the second highest banjee jumping in the world and so on, departure for Europe and return to Slovakia.

 The price includes accommodation during the tour in Kathmandu of European standard, during a trek in expedition tents of our TA, transportation in Tibet by jeep, permission to enter Tibet, Chinese visa, services of Slovak guide, services of Tibetan and Nepalese guide, one-day tour of historic monuments in Kathmandu, including admission fees.

 The price does not include food in Kathmandu (about 5 to 10 euros / day), Nepalese visa (40 USD), insurance.

 The tour programme is only informative, we will have to adapt to current conditions, practicability of roads, weather and so on as it is a habit for expeditions.
