Trek around Dhaulagiri – Nepal

Expeditional trekking around the seventh highest mountain in the world, eight thousand Dhaulagiri (White Mountain), 8167 meters high is designed for more capable hikers and trekkers. The trek itself is more than 200 km long, going through different vegetation zones, from mountain jungle at the beginning of the trek through glaciers and glacial moraines at the foot of 6 to 8-thousand peaks up to plateau of Tibetan type. During our journey we will make more than 10,000 meters of altitude, and certainly the most powerful experience will be the pass through the highest point on our trek – through mountain pass French Pass 5360 meters high into magic, until recently a restricted area for foreigners Hidden Valley.

 Trek around eight thousand Dhaulagiri is one of the most difficult but certainly the most beautiful trek in Nepal and is not well-known and visited by commercial tourists. We will be accompanied by team of porters, cooks and local guides on this difficult but beautiful trek.

Programme:

1st – 2nd day: Transportation by air to Kathmandu, the capital city of Nepal, rest after journey from Europe, shorter visit of the capital.

3rd day: Preparation for the trek, arranging of necessary permits, in the afternoon transfer by minibus to Pokhara, Nepal’s second largest city on the shores of magical Feva Lake.

4th day: Transfer by bus to the town of Beni and then to the village Darbang (altitude about 1200 m), the starting point of our hike.

5th – 9th day: Trekking through the valley of glacier river Myagdy Khola to the Italian base camp under Dhaulagiri in the height of 3700 m.

10th day: Acclimatization day in Italian base camp, relax.

11th – 13th day: Transition through „Swiss“ and subsequently „Japanese“ base camp to base camp under Dhaulagiri in the height of 4750 meters, where we can „touch“ this eight thousand .

14th day: Transition through the mountain pass French Pass 5370, the highest pass on our trek to the magical Hidden Valley.

15th – 16th day: Descent into the valley of the river Kali Gandaki, the deepest valley in the world, arrival in the picturesque thakali village Marpha.

17th -18th day: Transfer by bus through the deepest valley in the world, Kali Gandaki river valley to Pokhara, Nepal’s second largest city, overnight in the village Tatopani (Hot water) with possibility of a rest in the local hot springs.

19th – 20th day: Rest after a hard trek on the shores of beautiful Lake Feva, a free programme, possibility to visit the World Peace Pagoda above the town, safari in Chitwan National Park, possibility of panoramic flights, paragliding, hiring of mountain bike, rafting and so on.

21st to 23rd day: Transfer to Kathmandu by bus, shopping and rest, visiting historical sites, departure for Europe.

The price includes transportation in Nepal according to the trip programme, accommodation throughout the whole tour (in Kathmandu and Pokhara in twin-bedded rooms in hotels of European standard, during a trek in the expedition tents of TA Sancho Tour), permission to enter the national park, TIMS permit, fees in encampments, services of Slovak and Nepalese guide, 12 times full board during the trek, services of porters, cooks, one day visit to historical sites in Kathmandu, including admission fees.

The price does not include food in Kathmandu and Pokhara (approx. 10 EUR a day), insurance, visa for Nepal (40 USD), and other not speciefied services. Optional trips, the flight to M. Everest, rafting, paragliding, visit of safari in Chitwan National Park and so on.

Minimum number of participants in the trip is 6.
